Do you know of any coins that a hunter/fisherman would like?

I've got a friend that's into hunting and fishing. I'm trying to fins some pictures of coins that depict images related to those activities.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Dan

there's a civil war token with a fish on it. It's readily available. I cannot think of the fuld number offhand.

How about vintage Federal Duck Stamps? Some of the designs are really cool - they go back to the 30's. These are being issued as a required Federal permit in addition to a state hunting license to hunt waterfowl. Funds supposed to go for purchase of wetland habitat.image

How about the recent National Wildlife Medals? Not Coins but an interesting experiment by the US Mint. These Medals were produced with an experimental process using laser etching to achieve the frosted devices. I've noticed the finish is especially nice on the new US Marine Proofs so I wonder if the laser process was used on them?

There were four medals in the series - Eagle, Duck, Salmon, and Elk. Issue price was about 29.95. I found 2 of them on eBay for you.

Check out Gatewest in the Coin World centerfold. They're a Canadian firm & there's usually lots of wildlife themed Canadian coins they have up for sale.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Yeah, the national wildlife medals would be the best choice.
  • Excellent!

    Thanks, all, for your input.

I'd agree with the US National Wildlife "coins".

They really do look nice. I bought the set straight from the mint, for my Stepfather (hunter/fisherman as well). Problem was that the US Mint delayed these so long, he died on Thanksgiving 2 years ago....before I could give them to him image

No longer any use to me (neither hunt nor fish do I) but I think someone like that would like them.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
