opinions on grade

the bust half is letterd edge, first time ive seen one in person. the barber isnt too shabby either

I like the CBH very much and would grade it VG10 or so, however, the Barber quarter looks to have been altered and I don't like the eye appeal.

Howdy Bill. By altered on the quarter I did not mean tooled, added mintmark or anything like that; I was writing about the general surface color and "feel". The obverse is fairly blotchy, especially the portrait, and has the look of a coin that had stains removed from it while the reverse has a tint of salmon color on it that I find unattractive and that also looks like it is not original. The fact that it was dug likely explains the look.

yes I agree Tom, these coins have seen better days. I really am suprised they dont look worse than they do having been buried for so long.

On a seperate note, I really like the Ivy League coin site, them are some pretty coins indeed
