Swiss cheese, anyone?

These coins had been annoying me on Ebay for a few days (don't ya just hate when they do that?) and I came back around today and decided to splurge... of course in the interim I had missed out on a few others from the same seller. He who hesitates... image

Not sure what Cantons routinely go for, but I really like the toning on these:
  1. 1826 SWISS SWITZERLAND BERN, 2 1/2 BATZ, PCGS MS65 (Linky)

  2. 1812 SWISS SWITZERLAND FRIBOURG 10 BATZ NGC MS63 MS 63 (Linky)

Ones that I missed out on (I'm VERY upset with myself for hesitating on #2 and I really love the design of #4):
  1. 1826 SWITZERLAND AARGAU, 5 BATZ, NGC MS66 MS 66 A GEM! (Linky)

  2. 1829 SWISS SWITZERLAND VAUD, 1 BATZ, MS65 MS 65 (Linky)

  3. 1809 SWISS SWITZERLAND ZURICH 10 SH NGC MS64 MS 64 (Linky)

  4. 1809 SWISS SWITZERLAND BASEL 5 BATZ PCGS MS64 MS 64 (Linky)

You grabbed some awesome pieces!! Congrats. And #4 sure looks superb--perhaps a proof.

Nothin' cheesy about that Swiss stuff!

That Bern piece would fit nicely with Popcoin's bear-themed collection.

Yeah, there are some gorgeous coins there. I saw them come up the day they were listed, but I was already overbudget as it was, and didn't pull the trigger.

Now I just wish I had gone with my first instinct and gotten the two I did get along with #2 and #4 from those I did not.

    *kicks self hard*

Not buying that Basel piece is going to haunt me... image

I like the one from Vaud the best, no wonder why ch-socal BINed it. I lived in Vaud's capital for a couple of years, Lausanne. That was 25 years ago. image

Fribourg is a nice town too, basically inhabited by students. Nice coins, I haven't yet understood if you got any of them but thanks for posting them. image

    Sorry, I guess it's a bit unclear:

I was able to get the first two, but my hesitation cost me the rest... image

I just posted all of them because I thought they were all nice examples.

If you like Bern Kanton, you should seek out the Pittman 1826 5 Batz. Sold raw in August of 1999 for a whopping $1840.....you'll as likely never see a prettier 19th c. Swiss toner, but indeed, a crazy price, especially considering that PCGS67s were in the $4-500 range at the time.

    Nice Kantonals, BTW.
