the way laura defines a wannabe is so descriptive it has to be true. imagine running around a convention center looking for seven people's opinions on a coin you want to buy. you are a dealer! geez. you should not need seven people's opinion. what a wannabe.
i used to be offened by the term widget until i learned it is true. some coins are ALWAYS for sale. you turn around and they hit you in the face constantly. one can replace another. so it is also accurate.
Why would we do that? Forums thrive on controversy....

I hate to disagree but professionals in other fields (including my own) routinely ask colleagues for help and advice with challenging problems. It is expected.
you are talking about 1 in 1000 RYK? I agree talking with others about questions you have is ok... but the word is describing someone who does it everytime.
How about a truce? We stop using widget and wannabee and also certain elements stop bashing the honorable Judge Laura.
widget - item available in such quantity that competition keeps the markup very low - so that top-tier dealers can't make a living selling them
wannabee - an unfair competitor with low investments in education, experience, inventory, staff, brick storefront, etc who can sell widgets for a few dollars profit and be happy with it
<Can we agree to retire the words "widget" and "wannabe"...>
My answer to this question is an emphatic "YES"!!! In fact, I'd like to give a personal and public apology for starting two different threads yesterday (Thanksgiving Day of all days) which touched on both words. ...I am terribly sorry to all fellow forum members and I, for one, will never bring those two ridiculous words up again. ...Here's what we should do to those two words...
It's OK either way. I collect widgets and will deal with wannabes.

Most definitely ... with a one month grace period to allow smoe peoplez here to adjust accordingly. After the start of the new year anybody caught using these words should be publically tarred and feathered at one of the big national coin shows.

Laura will never "retire" these words. They define her. She cannot be "whole" without degrading others and placing herself above the pack (The ironic thing is they accomplish the exact opposite as far as I am concerned).
I love to see her use these terms as I believe it loses her customers (Lost this one!).

Of course, but in the opposite direction from the negative that is implied by the answers. A disingenuous way to bring her up again, from a dedicated sycophant.

Moreover, I'm still confused as to its meaning.
