Did some re-imaging today on a few bits of modern stuff and got these results on this one...
The coin is deep cameo finish but for some reason decided to come out like this...

I think if you diffuse the light around the coin (look for threads about the lampshade technique) you'll get the mirrored effect you're looking for.
