Isn't any PCGS-graded coin a potential Registry coin? Does it have to be a pop top to be bought, sold, and discussed here? Does it have to be condition census? Whose census?
What about raw coins or NGC-graded coins that are eligible to be graded by PCGS and therefore eligible to be placed in the Registry? Can these be bought, sold, and discussed here?
Is this forum superfluous?

Essentially, yes. That's why allowing "PCGS registry coins" to be bought and sold on this forum, turns it into another BST forum.

No, no and N/A.

Discussed? Presumably yes. Bought and sold? No.

That depends upon who you ask.

Of course ... even for those of us who maintain registry sets outside of PCGS because of botched set definitions or totally ignored sets.

Essentially ... Yes!

Thank God we have collectors who are strung-out on certified coins!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The money plays a very small role in all of this for me. Unlike some folks, I am not constantly hawking coins on the BST and ebay. My wife and I have jobs that compensate us adequately such that I do not have to "play coin dealer" on the side. I buy coins for my collection that I like to keep in my collection, no matter what holder.
When it comes time to sell or trade coins, I realize that there are a few slab trophy hunters out there that prefer coins in PCGS holders. They are so bought into the game and the marketing and the hype that they barely look at the coin.
This is the thread to which you are referring.

Of course I sell coins. Every collector does. Some even sell baseball cards.
In time, after "extremes" are explored, the two forums will serve their respective purposes.
<<How does one define "PCGS Registry Coin"?>>
Technically, it's any coin in a PCGS holder because any coin in a PCGS hodler can be put in to one or more of the PCGS Registry Sets.
The term "PCGS Registry Coin" has an objective answer -- the term "PCGS Registry Quality Coin" is subjective as some feel only certain calliber PCGS coins ought to be allowed in "Registry Sets"
