How long on monthly specials?

So.......I've heard horror stories, but, How long to most people have to wait to receive grades on PSA's monthly specials. The Nov. special is $5/card post-1972, and I have an order that I submitted and was received on 11/16. It was "in the grading process" on 11/17.

They are usually pretty quick with the 72- newer cards. Some pop up in 5 days, some a few weeks. I think some of the problems were the non sports card specials and the tall boy specials because there were so many oddball cards submitted.

I can't pass up an opportunity to complain...

My October special mailed out on 10/24. A whopping 5 card submission:

While I understand there's generally no FIFO policy at PSA for submissions, it is boggling to me that so many November specials are being turned around quickly while October specials remain incomplete. That just doesn't seem right. They should finish up with one month's submissions before moving on to the next month.

I sent a 30 card submission in at the beginning of this month.

Admittedly, I forgot to mark the top of the submission form with "Nov. Special", so that may or may not have something to do with it. The last 5 day special that I sent cards in popped in 5 days.

More than anything, I would like to get them back relatively quickly so I can sell them for the Christmas season. We all know how those bills can sneak up on us this time of year.

I am sure PSA is doing their best to get them back out the door ASAP. I guess I just need to learn more patience!

My 27 card submission was received on 11/3 and entered into the system. Still nothing. I guess I can't complain too much as I was getting back the other "modern specials" in 3-5 days, while others were waiting a couple weeks. Now it's my turn I guess. :S

Still a bummer. I don't have anything fantastic in there anyway, I just like the surprise when I see the grades pop. That's really all I'm paying for.

Entered in PSA system on 10/21, still waiting. All I get from customer service is "it is in the process", and the ever popular "turn around varies by demand".

I will send another submission after this one gets graded, the longer they wait, the longer I'll wait. The next submission may go in a nice box wrapped like an Xmas present, I know they'll open that right away.

My October Special was Received 11/3 and posted 11/28.

My November Special was Rec'd Nov 30. I have my fingers crossed that this one gets done sooner. The December special kinda sucks IMO.

InMySock-Somebody was just posting that they were looking to buy a PSA 10 91 Pro Set Favre. Check the recent threads, might have yourself a good sale right away.

I sent in 2 specials in the same box, both ocboter specials, one was regular and one tallboys. the regular was posted in a few days, but the tallboys havent been yet. it was entered into the system November 1st. Is it common to wait this long on tallboys?

I've got two October specials, still with no grades posted as of today. I called customer service at PSA to question how people are posting on these boards with results from NOVEMBER specials, when there are still customers waiting for OCTOBER specials to be graded/posted. He basically said that the people who got Sept. grades already were "lucky" and that was basically it....also told me I might have to wait til after xmas for grades to be posted. I asked if the cards were graded in order that they were received and he said yes.....but yet people have orders dated in October with no grades yet....he didn't have an answer to that other than "there is no guarantee" and the people who got grades quicker were "lucky". I wish they would just grade them in the order they are received...it's only fair isn't it??????

Here are the results:
The cards from 1972 to 1981 were all purchased when I was a kid and have saved since then. I've been getting cards that I acquired in my childhood graded gradually. The Jeter cards I picked up over the last 6 months or so and have had them graded. I am a big Jeter fan. The Clemens I graded just because I bought one of those UD tins and needed something to show for it.

The 1975 Ralph Garr card is a favorite from my childhood. I love the picture on that card. I was hoping to get a PSA 9 out of the Burger King Jackson and Ryan. I'm happy with the 9s on the Donruss Rose cards, it seems like the see card 371 variety is the rarer of the two. Not sure why the hostess cards didn't get graded, there was plenty of border on them.

Did the rep explain why it might not be until after Christmas that your grades would be posted? Do they have a lot of people out on vacation? It is still a couple weeks away, I can't believe the backlog is that big. Very frustrating at times. Good luck.

I can tell you from my experience last week I sent in 54 cards to be graded. They were logged in on the 30th of november for a 10 day grading. Then yesterday after 5 days I get an email and they are all graded. Not sure if I got lucky or what but it sure suprised the hell out of me.
