Andy Reid: Say it ain't so!

Pasted from the Eagles website:

Reid said Mike McMahon will start Sunday against Green Bay. In the meantime, the team is looking to add another veteran arm to the mix. The coach confirmed that the team has looked at Kordell Stewart, who has played for the Steelers, Bears and Ravens.

Kordell Stewart is on my list as one of the all time NFL players who I absolutely can't stand. Please Andy, I'm beggin' ya, anybody but him! - and yes that would almost include Ryan Leaf.

The Eagles won't be signing any punks such as Owens or a Randy Moss ever again. Stewart isn't a good player, but he's not a punk.
  • cool they can continue to lose games im fine with that and guess you are too. To bad the players want t.o back..

Well unless you haven't been paying attention to the TO situation with the Eagles, under no circumstances is TO ever again going to play for the Philadelphia Eagles. So whatever any Eagle's players think - it doesn't matter. Players often don't like when fellow team players get traded, released, leave because of free agency, etc., but it happens and the players who stay on the team quickly learn to live with it.

And you know what? Yes...I'd rather lose a few games than have an incorrigible punk like Terrell Owens on my team. It does cost us some games in the short-run, but in the long-run I believe the Eagles are better off without him.

Where were you last year, when you were winning (and going to the super bowl)?

TO's antics are nothing new...he was a malcontent and disruptive in SF, yelling at his offensive coordinator during a game, calling Garcia 'gay' in the media, yet the Eagles and their fans embraced him with open arms because he made them better.

Now, the Eagles are in a slump, going to miss the playoffs, and suddenly he's the reason? He's the reason the defense forgets how to play late in the game? He's the reason they stink now?

I find it hillarious that these same fans who were so solidly on the TO bandwagon (knowing full well the drama he brought) suddenly think that TO overnight became a headache.

Oh, and by the way, TO makes EVERY team better, even the Eagles...to suggest otherwise doesn't make sense.
  • Better talentwise = YES

    Better chemistrywise = NO

And in so many cases the latter is more important

Can anyone say with a straight face they wouldn't want him on their team?

I don't care...sign him for a year...give me his talent on my team immediately.
  • As a Cowboy fan i actually am willing to take a chance on him for one reason and one reason only : Parcells

I believe a coach like Parcells would be able to handle T.O and i believe T.O would have respect for what Parcells has accomplished in the league

  • Oh, and by the way, TO makes EVERY team better, even the Eagles...to suggest otherwise doesn't make sense

Coach Belichick publically disagreed with that assertion on the radio a few weeks ago. And although I couldn't see him over the radio, I'm pretty sure he did so with a straight face.image

I can't help but think Brady and Co. would salivate at the very thought of a player of his caliber joining the team. And there's enough leadership on that team to handle his antics.

Your team needs someone that can throw to him.

Then of course after a few games of missed catches TO would b!#ch and Gruden would bench him.

Take him, he is a punk. Philly gave him a chance and is done with him. That is how we do things in a real sports city.

    He is dead to us.

Hmm you mean the way that a REAL team like Tampa set the tone with by sending Meshawn home, then refusing to talk to Keenan.

TB set the precedent...don't make it out like the way TO was sent home is some sort of precedent.

This post makes no sense whatsoever. Where do you get your sports information from?...Jimmy Kimmel? The Eagles handled Owens fine last season despite Owens trying to be a punk at times. But nobody could have controlled Owens behavior this season. The Eagles did everything right with Owens, supported him and gave him a second chance with a nice contract. Owens blew it, not the Eagles. And what Eagles fan here has blamed Owens for the Eagles poor perfomance this season? How about no Eagles fan here has said Owens is the reason the Eagles are losing. He is certainly part of the reason but definitely not the whole reason. And except for the maniac joestalin who years ago fell from a ten story building, landed on his head and never recovered, and believes only his Bucs can possibly represent the NFC in the Super Bowl...there are many teams in the NFC that could get into the Super Bowl - the NFC is still wide open.
