Some Asian Pocket Finds

Well it's the holiday season in NYC which means waves of tourist passing their funny money as ours.

First wave are Asian tourist, then usally other states and by Christmas lots of Europeans.

Here are some coins given back in change last week.



The little one is a 1 baht from Thailand, I believe 2004, given back as a dime after buying some bad coffee.
The other is a 1 yuan from China 2003 given by a friendly cashier who knows I collect.

Really? In Japan it cost ¥500 the last time I went to a public bathhouse.

Except that finding world coins from pocket change is scattered, the summer months yields little.

I just accept that most of these finds will be worth about ten cents U.S. and that I willl never finish a type collection just from pocket change.

I have have Asian coinage in my US pocket change only rarely. These days I get Korean coins in my change every day
