New purchase came today.... the pic makes it look like cleaning marks but it's defiantely natural

    It came out of an ANACS holder... So it passed their inspection, it's my crappy pic lol

    I was going to be snide and say something like "Yeah, and we all know the TPG's never make mistakes"

    But then I decided not to.

    Actually, your photo makes it look sandblasted.

    I think for the sake of coins like this. A pic should be included from a distance where a close up pic can cause light distortions. From a distance you can tell this coin was not cleaned...

    Yes it does... But I catch toning on a coin when I take pictrues of them like a blonde gets punchlines of a joke. image

    First I'm going to say I like it image

    Then I'm going to say that it has probably been cleaned in the 170 years it's been around, but who cares. Then I'm going to say that I am MORE THAN AWARE of how you can actually make an uncleaned bustie apear to be cleaned simply by a less than perfect photo. Then I'm going to say that I'd put it at a nice AU.

    Lastly I'm going to repeat the fact that I like it image

    Looks good. Most coins look a bit rough with harsh lighting like that.

    Yeah the ANACS holder had it at AU 50 but this is going into my new Bust Album image

    Looks like a nice, original EF-45 to me. I'd buy it for my own collection.

    That dime has way too much detail for ANACS AU50. My guess is ANACS quietly downgraded it because the coin was cleaned and has retoned. The detail appears to be AU55.

    Nice JR-1 coin. Show us a better picture when you can manage it.
    I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

    That coin looks uncleaned and nice to my eye. I think the harsh lighting and (sorry) poor photography make the coin look worse than it is. I agree with the grade, too...Mike
