7 day economy turnaround?

7 days seems impossible but it caught me totally by surprised. I had a few coins that just need to be put into plastic and the brand of plastic didn't make a difference so I figured I'd give them to ICG figuring they would likely be the quickest. Well I sent them on a Thursday and I got them back in my hands the following Thursday. I was dumbfounded. So during the Denver show I talk to them and they are guaranteeing 7 day turnarounds. So I gave them another 10 coins at the show, and in 6 days they were done. While ICG might not be for every coin or everybody, hopefully this will shake things up with the other TPG's out there. I also hear ANACS is trying to improve their turn around times on economy submissions. I'll still submit to all 4 of the major grading serives out there depending on the coin but they will be getting more business from me with service like this.

But since you don't submit REAL coins, I guess it doesn't make a difference!!!image
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

My sense is that ICG & ANACS have a certain number of graders that they currently employ. Their business is not so great so they hope to increase their volume by these promotions. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Bottom line is the PERCEPTION customers of TPG services think about each one. Right now PCGS & NGC are #1 and #2. Can ICG and ANACS overtake them? I don't think anyone knows right now, but it appears that ANACS will make a big push after the first of the year. We will see. Steveimage

I just gave ICG another submission Saturday, but it also included three 1932 D quarters, a 1909 S VDB, and a 1913 S T2 Buffalo. Better widgets in their own right but then again ICG also grades the Keys for free so these were free add ons that didn't cost me a cent. Don't get me wrong, I also did a submission for PCGS Saturday, but they were registry quality early Washingtons. I just wish I could get them back in a week as well.
