Posted my first few Barber Halves tonight in the Registry set

Just thought it would be appropriate to let everyone know I posted my first few Barber halves this evening. Pretty exciting first time for me to do this. I wanted to thank all that have corresponded with me and the sources of what I have acquired so far as I begin this quest.

I hope to get some pictures up in the next couple of weeks as well.

    Glenn,

Looks like a real nice start. I've always loved the Barber coins. I've considered starting a nice AU set of Barber Halves, but so far all I have is the Dimes.

Looking forward to seeing the pics.

    Good luck.

    Glenn,

Congratulations on your set; its off to a great start. Getting the 1905-O out of the way was a smart move, they're alot harder to locate than most people think ( it was the last coin I located in AU58 ).

Looking forward to the photos !

Thanks Jon and Mike for your kind remarks. It seems like AU-58 is a real challenge as well Mike. I picked up an NGC 1903 AU58 3 weeks ago at a local show and it's just amazing how hard it is to find nice Barber Halves, unmessed with really from XF up.

Jon, I would guess its just as tough in the dimes, and with the real tough keys as well maybe even a bit tougher.

Thanks again for the kind words.

I have added a couple of new ones to the registry set, although I have a total of 4 now but two are NGC coins.

The new PCGS coins are a nicely originally toned 03-0, very well struck in 64 from Harry Laibstain, and a 1909-S from the ANR Baltimore Auction formerly Peter Shiremans also in 64. The 09-S is brilliant and has prooflike surfaces, a lovely coin and I am proud to own both of these.

I have also added in NGC a 94-S in 63, very clean coin, original, and a beautiful 1912 in 64 with darker gold rim toning framing both the obverse and reverse very nicely, also both from Harry. Pictures soon I hope.

Have a great new years everybody.
