U. S. Mint up to playing games with buyers
As noted on the Mint web site, the 2005 nickels and items with those nickels may not be delivered if not ordered by December 1. As many of you have probably seen on the front page of Coin World, Mint seeks to extend 5c sales with a vote from the House and Senate. It sounds like it will happen. It looks like the hurry to buy was just a trick to boost sales and this extension was probably already in the works. Gotta love the Mint, a well oiled machine.
Oh well, I just had to vent about their games.

I did read that "new" products - (hmm which are these) - will still be subject to the 12/31 deadline, even with the new legislation.
I would think the products still with deadlines are coin nickel sets, 2 roll sets, etc.
I think the Mint wants to keep selling the US Proof, Mint sets.....this is the issue.

You may well be right. These could get pretty hot on the secondary market if mintages remain
as low as they are. The mint would probably prefer not to let this happen and would definitely
want to maximize their profits.
<< <i>I agree the Mint is killing the secondary market. >>
Have you done a completed items search for marine commems or legacy sets lately?
