There's only 1 full band dime for 1979-P a MS65FB. I don't think you will get an offer for a banded one, but a MS66 should be no problem. May even find a ms67 if you take the time and dig arround for awhile.
I had taken a look at the POP report before I made this post and I realize that the 1979 FS Jeffersons and the 1979 FB Roosevelts are low POP in high grades (or any grade for that matter) but right now I don't even have a non-FS or FB in either of the P mints. I will take what I can get as long as the coins are PCGS and at least MS64. I am surprised at how difficult these coins are to find considering the mintage numbers. The higher the grade and/or if the coin has FS or FB so much the better. I would be happy to buy the high dollar FS or FB coins at any rational price.
I am trying to complete a birth year set for my son for Christmas.
I have several nicely toned examples and a couple near full steppers and only one FS example in my collection but none are in the PCGS plastic holder so I can't help you. Good luck in your search.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!
Check on the regular forum. Go under search for 1979. I beleive someone just posted this week about guessing the grade and it was indeed a PCGS MS 65FS Nickel. Ask him if he is willing to sell it.
This is the title where I saw the 79P Nickel in ms 65 FS. " What do you think PCGS called this Jeff" The one who posted the thread was JRocco you might contact him if you know him or someone who does. Hope that helps.
