Heritage might just be the absolute worst when it comes to shipping lots!

Is it just me, or does anyone else have to call to get their coins when you win a lot. Here it is two weeks after the Dallas auction, I paid the day after I won the lot, and not only have I not received the coin yet... THEY HAVE NOT EVEN SHIPPED IT YET!! I called the other day and asked them to overnight it for today. They said they would. Guess what... no fed ex today. I just hung up the phone with them. Now they're telling me it's hung up in shipping. There's just no excuse for this kind of customer service. This happens nearly every time. Sorry, just need to vent.

I almost posted a similar thread after my fiasco with them on my recent RE half win in the Dallas Sig sale that ended Nov. 3 at 10 in the morning.

I called them the DAY that I won and provided them with my updated CC info. I called again several days later to find out that they had not even "run it thru" and was told it would be done that day.

A couple of days later I get a bill in the mail for the coin so I call and find out that they had finally run my card and that the coin had been shipped THAT day.

The coin finally arrived YESTERDAY via USPS with 4.35 in postage on it for priority (I paid 14 something for shipping). This was because I made certain to state I did not want them using FEDEX for reasons outlined above such as leaving it on the porch.

Their shipping sucks and their methods of entering the payment or whatever they do sure sucks too.

  • I'm lucky...I have NEVER had a problem with Heritage. Now I've only bid in the normal ongoing internet auctions and bullet sales, but I generally get my coins within 5 days of paying on line...
  • Man, Heritage has major problems in a number of areas. I just received my 3 lots from that sale.
The same day the bill arrived. I hadn't realizesd I was so important they would ship me $700 worth
of merchandise before even billing me.

We've already discussed the problems they have had with placing their stuff on eBay. Wrong pictures,
wrong categories, etc... If I was a consignor I would be PO.

I have completed about a dozen transcations with Heritage. My package has always arrived within 3-5 days of auction end...and as already mentioned usually before the invoice.. Sounds like I have been lucky as well.

There may be some problems, as I can see, but the bottom line is........

Have you ever not gotten your items, sooner or later?

Everyone cannot get their packages within a week, it's just that simple.

A little patience. This is a hobby and not supposed to cause ulcers!!!

Hey man, what's the problem? You'll get you coin eventually when they get good and ready. They're probably "Busy" isn't that what most
of the real world says when they have no excuse for poor customer service? No matter how big they are, and won't hire more help to take care of these matters. Just like some of the big dealers that brag about all the money they make, and all the big coins they buy. They won't hire extra help to
work their tables at shows, or help in the office to answer the phone, emails, shipping etc. They're "BUSY." Heh

We all seek instant gratification, especially in our coin purchases. I hate waiting for my coins also, but makes it that much sweeter when they arriveimage

Heritage is usually pretty quick for me. I often get my coins before I've even paid. Try to get away with that with your average eBay seller.

I just received mine yesterday. I had to call to see what was holding my order. She appologized and they sent it out. What made me wonder what was going on is the fact I ordered a couple of coins off the regular for sale stuff and I had that order in about three days.

  • MY GOODNESS!!! You guys have to much time on yur hands!!! I have NEVER called them to check. Some come in a month, in a week. If everyone was a little more patient and did NOT call them, then maybe they can spend the time they were alloted TO SHIP AND SERVICE!!! I feel it's like the 80/20 rule with ALL businesses. The BIG clients should be taken care of first, and the rest to follow. If cosignors like Morse are using them, well, they must have a pretty darn good rep.

They once sent me $200,000 worth without me paying yet. They know they shipped it, I'm not going to Bermuda, and the invoices will tell you what you ow, and what's coming. You have it in writing. Why complain about WHEN you get it. You will. image

BTW, their pics are looking darn good to me.

If you REALLY dont like to wait - go to the auction, win your bid, pay, and you can take the coin then and there. Sheeesh.

  • I never have had a problem with deliveries. And the coin almost always looks better than their, I have to say, lousy pics......the closeup feature tells a better tale about the coin....JMO.

I had a thing like that with them once. My coins got shipped to Minnesota. I did eventually get them. Stewart Huckabee (swhuck on the forum) was very, very helpful in getting the snafu solved.

Usually my coins arrive promptly. It reminds me that I need to pay them when they arrive. image

  • Lloydmincy,
You act as if it's too much to ask to have your lots sent in a timely manner. It has nothing to do with having too much time on my hand ( which admittedly, sometimes I do image), but if I treated my clients that way.... well, I would have NO clients.

If I don't get something in a month from an auction house or ebay then I start asking. But frankly, I'm busy enough as it is to wait every day on the mail waiting to see if something arrived. That was the case back in my teens and 20's but I was really obsessed back then.

Heritage helped me out of a jam this year that had nothing to do with them whatsoever. Saved me thousands. They did very well for me in 2003 when they auctioned some coins for me. I also like their no-nonsense approach when selling them coins. Sometimes I wish I had gotten a little more money (don't we all) but when adding it at all up.......I'm well ahead and more than happy. I'm not gonna fret when a package gets delayed a bit and it has happened where I bid on 2 different days of a NY sale, and the 2nd set of lots never came.
I did have to call on those. No sweat.

You must be one of the BIG clients they take care of first.
They say they will ship the lot in three to five days so why does it take them any longer? I don't think the problem is people calling customer service. I thint the problem is with them.

I had some coins I ordered a week later off their website in three days. I thought maybe my other coin was lost in the mail, so I called to see when it shipped.

To each their own if you want to wait for a month so be it. I think if they say ship in three to five days after payment received they should follow their own rules.

  • I just received the coin from Heritage. Saturday Fedex no less. I guess they wanted to "make it right". I certainly appreciate their effort and will let them know that.
  • Just wanted to add.....what the heck does being busy have to do with expecting a coin to be delivered in a timely manner. It seems a few forum members have used this thread to crow about how busy they are. Most of us here are busy. I have three girls. An 8 year old and twin three year olds. I run my own business. That keeps me pretty darn busy. I'm certainly not sitting around waiting for the postman to ring my doorbell. However, when I pay for something promptly, I don't feel I should have to call 2 weeks later to remind them to ship the coins. Like I said, this happens to me almost every time. Even the woman at Heritage said the coin should have been shipped last week. I guess that's why she sent it Saturday Fedex.
  • I am still waiting for two Morgans that I won in the Dallas auction as well. Last time it took me three weeks to get my coins. Maybe we are on a "screw with" list. Then again, maybe we just do not spend enough money with them to merit good customer service. I have only spent about $20k with them this year and the coins that I am waiting for are only worth about $4k.
