My first Teletrade win from last night

There was something about this that just said "Bid on me".

My kind of coin Tootawl! I like the AU range for type collecting. It's a nice bargain grade.

Is the O-117 for an Overton number? A specific variety? (Pardon my ignorance on the subject)

I might be shopping Baltimore for a nice Bust Half myself. It's coming soon image.

Odds are with ANACS it's probably an O.117 but take TPG's bust attributions with a grain of salt. They are wrong almost as often as they are right. When you get it in hand attribute it yourself just to be sure. Nice coin image

I agree with you. Enjoy the coin Tootawl, it looks like a nice original bust half dollar.

Actually, it looks to be an O-118, not the 117. Good looking coin and IMO a much better buy then the ANACS AU-55 also sold in this auction for 10.00 more.

To XBob who was asking about the Overton number...this is a list of the different obverse and reverse die combinations used in a particular year. They are named for Al Overton the author of "Early Half Dollar Die Varieties"

Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

    Nice-

    Will you set it free?

I always liked Bust Halves raw.

    Cliff,

Nice pick up. I always looked at the 1836 LE as a transitional issue before the RE was produced later on.

Edited to say: Although I know what the Overton numbers are all about, I never had the fortitude to amass a set of Bust Halves by Overton number. I'm just as happy to have a few XF's.
