I just got my 1986 proof set and 1986 silver eagle proof from Harlan J Berk today! I'm kind of excited!!! My uncle got all of my brothers and sisters a proof set for their birth year, but being the youngest of 5, he must have forgot about me .. oh well I've got one now!!

Hey '86 was a really good year.

The proof set was lower mintage and it was the first year of the silver eagle. The mint set was also low mintage.

The '86 mint set is a good one too. This is the first year that some of the coins appear
to have been struck on burnished planchets and most of these can be found as spec-
tacular gems.

I imagine the 86 Eagle is a nice one to own. My uncle gave my brother a few Eagles before he passed away. . I know the 86 was one of them
