UK Market Watch - Looks like Northeast is seeing some action on florins

This one was just listed as sold - asking price was $1750.

It was one of the nicest florins from the Cheshire auction this past June.image

I've always loved the gothic florins (for those of us who can't afford gothic crowns). I don't have any UNC examples, but I do have a lovely PCI AU50 (back when PCI could actually grade) that is heavily toned... a bit darker than this one, and unfortunately not as uniform. image
  • Nice, but I really like the 1848 pattern proof, nice to see a Gothic without the crown, pretty unusual. Though with the price, that one maybe at Northeast for a bit.

  • They've got a few nice coins right now. I especially like the toned proof Irish "trade dollar." Just beautiful, but they want waaaaaaaayyyyy too much for it.
Everything I write is my opinion.

    Looking for alot of crap.

Indeed, many of those 1848 patterns are beautiful. I like the one with the "VR" reverse. It's hard to find them with just a "kiss" of toning though. Most are more darkly toned which cuts down on the mirrors and cameos.image

That ESC-909 is very pretty and much nicer in-hand. It wouldn't hurt to try for a cross to PCGS and do a TrueView of it.
  • That is a nice one, I still like mine... image

If they could just move the decimal over a few places in the price, I am in!

As an aside on the higher end MS market; 2006 Spink lists an 1873 in UNC. at 350 quid (~$600). This coin ran to probably 2.5x Spink.

Mac - True in many markets for the right coin. A "commercial" MS64 or 65 Canadian bronze goes for trends, or a little less. A problem free gem goes for multiples of trends. - Rob
