No doubt it's just hype fueling the price of this card. But it will be very interesting to see in 15-20 years, how much these limited type rookie cards of superstar HOF type players would sell for. Just imagine if players like Bird, Magic, Jordan, Ripken, Clemens, Montana, Elway, Rice, Lemiuex, Roy had rookies that were /10 or /50 or /100.
That is insane. If I had that kind of dough to burn on Crosby cards, I think I'd wait for SP Authentic and the other high-end products to hit the market.
The superstar cards will hold thier value over time. All the other cards will be tomorrow's garbage. Rarity and demand. That is what will keep the cards valuable.

Call me crazy, but I don't think either one is going to help you attract members of the fairer sex. You might try investing in sensitivity classes, where they'll teach you that ladies don't particularly like to be referred to as "broads".

Call me crazy but I would rather have a PSA 7+ Orr, Howe, or PSA 4ish '33 Vezina RC.

I think the same guy bought both of them.
