Toned Morgan Photo Contest - Results are in!

Weird, the original thread is not TTT'ing - I guess because it was pinned to the top, but the pin has "expired" or something.
In any case, thanks to everyone and here are the results!

So I guess that means mgoodm3 wins in the amature division.
They were all great pictures. Will we ever get to find out who took the other pictures?

What do you mean? I just sell on eBay like most of the other contestants.
I really admire the detail and even lighting of many of the photos. Clearly I have a lot to learn. I do enjoy photographing coins and hope to do more contests.
CONGRATS ALL!!!!!!
Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
So who wants to share their setups? I used a Canon A80 (4 MP) at maximum focal length with a Cokin +2 close-up filter, since the macro setting on the camera didn't cut it alone. For lighting, I used a fluorescent ringlight (?!), which gave me all the colors, but was a bit flat. I then took a second picture using one directional light to light up the profile and give me some luster and depth. I blended the two pictures together to get the result I wanted. This was the first time I'd tried this, and apparently it worked pretty well for the obverse. I wasn't as satisfied with the reverse, and probably should have lit it differently, but then hindsight is 50-50, right. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next contest.
Fun.

messydesk - The two pictures merging idea is kinda neat, may have to try that sometime.
What I want to know it what people did not like about entry number 9?

I thought it was superb, I would have just liked to see it smaller.
I used a Nikon CoolPix 4500 with natural sunlight.
Most of the pics were So good it was very hard to pick the best. It's been so long since I had the coin, I don't remember excatly what it looked like, but my goal was to make the pic look as much like the coin as possible. At the time, I thought I did that pretty well. I guess that has little do do with the final result. Mine was #11.

I didn't vote in the original thread, I just missed it but I would probably have gone for #25 over yours. You always get incredible detail and it shows in this photo but there is a little distraction in the glare at 1 o'clock and 8 o'clock, plus I prefer the contrast of the coin against the white background instead of the black.
I don't mean to be too critical (comparing my photo skills to yours) but you did ask
btw I could tell your work straight away
