A.H.???? How do I tell them apart?

Hello. I have 2 NGC slabs sitting in front of me 1 A.H. 1 not. Short of the plastic. How do I tell them apart? I'm using a 7X loop and think I see a little difference above the ear.imageimageimage Old & dumb is no fun. I want to learn all I can before I get there image

in his four pairs of diagnostics pics i used to try and spot them by the first set of pics..the hair over the ear area.
then i heard about the truncated bottom foot of the I in LIBERTY and found it much easier to make the call.
also when i finally saw the wiggly rays on the reverse they all talked about that was it.
look at that area and the truncated I on the obverse and you can attribute the coin from either side view.

The problem with that diagnostic, though, is that there are examples of the regular coin with grease fill in that area so the serif gets truncated.

good point. good there are other diagnostics to look for
mainly those few rays that looked spiraled or wavy.

I'm glad you brought this up. My reg. is missing this foot.
