In terms of resale/ebay does it make sense to have them graded/authenticated, even if I know for a fact they are real?

No!
Unless they are something rare/unique with an auto(something with Jordan,Lebron,etc...) but otherwise I wouldn't bother.
I mean how much more is it going to put in your pocket?? Plus guys that buy a lot of modern are very good at finding bogus cards on the "Bay" so I just don't see the need.
