This is nice! Why is the bottom drawer so deep, is it for cash intended for future purchases?image

Frankly shep, I liked your old system too, I remember the way you had placed light wooden panels to separate the flips in various boxes. You're a very inventive guy. image

The bottom drawer can be used as a file drawer but I use it for bulk storage of the containers of coins in 2X2 's

I still use the divided boxes but I wanted something to display my better coins and ship coins in airtights.

    Thanks for the compliment Dimitri!!

    Shep-

Where did your wife find that cabinet? If you don't mind me asking. image Was it locally or from like a chain store? I have never seen anything quite like that offered retail.

Nick - It was a lucky break - we have a chain store called Fred Meyer - I was in there with my wife and I saw this chest - it was on sale for $99.00 - I thought that was a good deal and my wife said "well your birthday is next week - get it". One little thing, it was in a box all apart and had to be assembled. It is just right hieght and the drawers come out and fit in the little rimmed area on the top surface.

    Nice Birthday gift.image
  • That's pretty cool, Shep. I might have to go see if the Fred Meyers over here carry it. What was it supposed to be storage for? Seems kind of an odd thing for them sell. A word of warning though, you might want to put some test coins in there in various holders for a couple months or so. Who knows what kind of gasses it might give off if it wasn't made specifically for coin storage.

  • Steve - I have thought about that also - the chest is called a "hobby chest" but I'm sure it was not made with coins in mind - I will watch closely.
