What if, the transaction to a 100 point grading system was free of charge!

Would you favor a 100 point grading system if you could have all your coins transfered into the new labeled holder free of charge? But you may get stuck with the postage and insurance!

<< <i>As long as it takes for PCGS to deliver on a paid service, I can only imagine how long it would take for the "free" conversion. Plus, the hassle of packaging and mailing. I would pass. >>
And how many coins have they graded? 50 million?
So what other topic could DH discuss in Florida?

They will NOT regrade for free.
Would I do it? Nope, happy with 70 pts.
They don't use all 70 right now....what would going to 100 change?

I think this is a BAD BAD BAD idea, and if PCGS does convert to a 100pt scale I personally will never buy a PCGS holdered coin again or send anything to them to be holdered.
IMHO
1) PCGS used some of the lower numbers and a published criteria to distinguish between all the fine points in well circulated coins currently graded between 1 and 4 (I can tell the difference between an "AG 3.3" and "AG 3.7" Barber coin, but would love my hunches formalized) AND
2) Grading fees were limited to 25% of the coin's market value -- what the coins actually trade for, as opposed to the current PCGS or Numismedia prices much abused by optimistic sellers of raw or problem coins who often optimistically cite these price guides.
Since I am collector, not a dealer, I shudder at the thought of the profit taking and confusion while the 70-point to 100-point conversion takes place.
In one word, no.
No.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
I have invested though in some very nice 2x2 Intercept shield holders and flips this week.
Looking for alot of crap.

then my kids and grandkids could sell them as OGH's, OBH's and I even have a Morgan in an OYH.

We don't use half of the grades in the 70 scale anyway.
This is aburd.
