    Yep, time to sell.

  • I wonder if more people will be buying the platinum proofs from the mint now?
I don't even want to think what the mint price of the 2006 plat proofs will be.

If you think this is the peak for the price of platinum, that would make sense.
But since it's not, then the bullion is catching up to the Mint's mark up price and
should surpass it sometime next year.

Wow, and we're already paying $210 for the tenth oz. o.O

(The one oz is closer to the actual platinum price; waaay less markup)

  • And it might even go higher. The supply is low and the demand is high. Not to mention one of the hardest metals to find.

Why is demand high? What do they use platinum for?

Platinum is an important catalyst, I believe. You probably have some in your exhaust pipe.

    Plus jewelry, of course...

Fuel Cells. And that's a big one. The Chinese seem to have a big interest in Fuel Cells. Could that be why they have a big interest in Platinum?

Also jewelry and a hedge, possibly. What better way to have inflation proof savings? Wear it as jewelry, when times get tight, sell it!
