  • Did hurricane Wilma cross over Newport Beach, California? It sounds like total devastation.
  • I'm beginning to think PCGS is going through what Superior Galleries is just now coming out of. A bunch of miss cues that make them look like a....well, not too inviting. I still like PCGS the best, but come on!!! What the hell is going on with them.

I usually don't respond to these kind of posts, but here is my comments:

If PCGS screwed up, why didn't you just contact them and have them correct the labels if that was the problem?

What in the world do you expect posting on this board will do? Those of us who like PCGS will continue to like PCGS. It's all about the money, right? Good luck.

    Stevey,

    Down boy!
We all make mistakes, even PCGS.
Dave is just pointing out, if true, that some are more blatant than others. Regades should at least have the same date/mm don't you agree?
Dave, too bad the grades didn't change.....but I'd love to see a picture of the 1879-S Reverse of 1878/1878 8TF! image

Maybe worth a premium to a PCGS hater!

& yes Steve, we still love PCGS. image

Like I've said earlier in other threads, it appears there are serious I.T. bugs cropping up at PCGS that coincided with the arrival of VAM attributions, new VAM coin numbers, and trying to keep it all straight in the PCGS database.

I'm sure it will all work out eventually.
    When in doubt, don't.
  • Wow!! Great upgrades Dave!!

    Gotta love those 8tfs!! image

If I only had a dollar for every VAM I have...err...nevermind...I do!! image

    Dave,
I apologize. I mistook your comments to be more than joking. As I said before, I usually don't comment on these things and I should not have done so here. Sorry.

It doesn't matter what the online description says. What is important is what the label on the coin's holder says when you receive your submission in the mail.

There does seem to be an unusual number of glitches lately.

When this submission first posted it had the two crosses at PR68 with no cameo designation.

There's a pretty sizable value difference involved, and unfortunately I didn't catch it before the coins were shipped so they could be pulled. I called about it, and they immediately corrected it in the database, but when I get the coins back I have to send them back in to get the labels corrected. Out of all my submissions over the last 3 1/2 years, this is only the second time anything like this has happened so overall their record is pretty good.
