Opinion on 1927-D Standing Lib quarters
In a recent issue of Coin Values magazine I read where the author of an article pointed out that this quarter was a "sleeper".
He must have been right because every since, I have tried to pick up a nice one to hang on to for future profit.
Finally found a nice NGC MS-65 at David Laurence Rare Coins and still have not been able to find any others that were graded on the Bay.
Could he be right?

11-03-2005: There is not a lot of material available, but the coins that do appear are bringing strong prices. This is a short, highly collectible series and the coins are very beautiful. These great coins are tremendous values. There are not a lot of coins around to buy, but my recommendation for these great coins is a STRONG BUY.

Why can't you find them? Its price did not move very much between 1998 and now. Many folks hold them and do not want to sell them. I personally have more than 10 PCGS MS65 27-D SLQ and I won't sell any at the current level. When modern goes to the roof, SLQs are still staying on the ground.
Also, watch out the grade inflation in this series. I believe most UNC coins were push one to two grades higher since 1997. May be that's why the prices did not move.
Just my two cents.
Yes, I believe it to be a good buy right now.
ANY branch mint coins in the series are ripe for an increase in price, In my opinion.
