2004 Jefferson Double Die? Help!

I cant tell if this is a double die or machine doubling, can anyone tell me from these pics? It is most apparent in any of the S's, and the first one shows the best view of the 1803, and the bottom of the pipe going down diaganally from right to left. Thanks for the help.

Machine doubling. A true hub doubling would show obvious splits in the serifs of the lettering on something this strong.
  • I'm thinking die deterioration. I'm seeing doubling on most of the legend, but the doubling is visible towards the center all the way around the coin. (Doubling visible on the bottoms of the letters around the top of the coin, and on the tops of FIVE CENTS.) And there is a lot of deterioration around the E in PURCHASE.

Although, it looks really cool, lots of doubling on the coin.
