Uhh... it's from 1749... uhh.... it's counterstamped... uhh... I see the globes from a reverse of a pillar dollar.

Beyond that, yer on yer own...

This is a Guatemala eight reales. The G mintmark is just visible to the right of the date. It has a counter mark which is also Guatemala. The countermark may have been added in 1838 or 1839. Very cool piece.

Thanks Pulled out my Krause and found the Guatemalan section.. then had to get the 1800-1900 book out because of the time frame in which it was counterstamped..... Haven't nailed it down 100% yet, but learned a little history and had a lot of fun !!!!!!!!
