Where will T.O end up?

Lions sure could use him, maybe inject some life into this team. He and Muche though have a history, so that might not work out, especially since T.O. would have to be teamates with Garcia, who he ripped on too.

    Here is the real question:

Will his next team sign him to a multi-year contract with a nice signing bonus?

Search for the dumbest coaching-owner combination in the league and you'll most likely have your answer. But I don't fault the Eagles one bit for signing him last season. Here was the basic "stipulation" behind it all - If the Eagles were a winning team, then Owens would be happy - if the Eagles were a losing team, then Owens would be Owens.

Nobody could rationally foresee that the Eagles going to the Super Bowl and almost winning it, would result in even more absurd, worse behavior from Owens. He had a signed contract.

Owens will be a poor value for any team that signs him. As has been pointed out...he had dropped a fair amount of passes this season. He catches "certain types" of passes very well but defenders are realizing this and covering him accordingly. There has been a fair amount of single coverage on him this season which tells me that defensive coordinators didn't really fear him.

I think Owens, possibly because of those groin injuries, knows that he can't play the way he used to. Why would he have been so adament for a new contract when he would have made 8 million next season? All he had to do was have a "normal" Owens type season and there was no way the Eagles wouldn't have had him on their team next season for that contract amount.

Yes Owens will sign for another team next season and will receive a "decent" signing bonus, but I think it will be one of the poorest signings in NFL history with all the information that is now known.

  • Parcells seems to have a thing for inflated ego receivers. Keyshawn, Terry Glenn etc.
  • TO will be with the Raiders or spending time at the state bed and breakfast the way he is going

I said it in the other thread, and Denver would be a perfect fit for him.

And there isn't a team that's going to give this guy a long term deal...2 years at most.
