E Bay question- Shipping to an unconfirmed address?

I recently sold two Items on E- Bay to an individual who had opened their account on the same day they placed their winning bids? My question is that I noticed that they do not have a confirmed address. I was going to ship registered mail. Would this cover me in the event of a chargeback or dispute? I don't want to get a charge back and later find out I am now out of $2000 worth of coins. Any advice would be welcomed.

No. To be covered, the item MUST be shipped to a confirmed address.

I would be a bit concerned about this....your best bet is to ask them to please send a check since they have a new account....if they are legit they will understand and comply....good luck...but better to be safe than out $2,000

I agree with both the other members. If you accepted PayPal and shipped to an unconfirmed address you are NOT covered by PayPal Seller's Protection however if you can PROVE they received it you'll at least have a leg to stand if you have to go up against their credit card company. An awful risky deal. Good Luck.

Ask them to become confirmed or to send a check.

Having said that...did you state in the auction that you only take Paypal from confirmed addresses? If not, you should probably honor the bid if they refuse to get confirmed or send a check and wait for it to clear.

I make sure to state that I reserve the right to refuse payment for shipping to unconfirmed addresses. If someone buys a coin from me for (say) $20-$50 and isn't confirmed, I'll generally send the coin anyway unless their history (or lack of it) gives me the willies. Once you're getting over $100 or so, I won't personally take that chance.
