Is this a test? Contest? Do we get a prize?

If we win...do we have to declare it on our income tax? Will we have to pay for the postage? Is there a handling fee? What if no one gets it but I'm close...do I still win? If I win...how will you be informing us?
Are you going to have a separate thread declaring the winner? What if there's a tie?

That's a hard one without knowledge of the boxes. Were there more than one box style per year?

The wrapper appears to have a lot of yellow on it - like the 1988s.

  • That looks to me like the 1980/'81 Fleer team stickers. I bought quite a few of those...the backs had a puzzle.

I'm certain of the year because I had a Dallas Mavericks sticker...first year of the franchise.

I saw that...I thought that a team sticker came with the pack but I see it now and along with Chris's input, I guess the answer is evident.

    I guess I don't win a prize.

A local dealer here recently picked up a bunch of those boxes. I wonder if there was a big "find" of these gems somewhere. I can tell you the local dealer was selling the packs for $1 each, but didn't have many takers, and my guess would be that most were not aware they were stickers when they bought them. I couldn't find any pricing on them when I looked a couple months back so I can't give you any insight as to their "value". I don't think there are any big hits to be had, but some of the player collectors might be interested in some of the stars...

    Good Luck with it.

  • There are no stars here...it's simply a set of 23 team logo stickers. A sticker at the top has each team's 1979-'80 record (except for the Dallas Mavericks -- it just mentions that they're the "newest NBA team" as they started in 1980). It'll appeal to team collectors and Fleer freaks but few others.

If you're looking to dump the box cheap, drop me an email. I had many of them (about half the set) as a young collector and kinda miss them, even though I rarely follow hoops anymore.
