84 fleer update

just picked up an unopened set. there was a recent thread regarding corners where the mfgr may not have cut completely thru. notice on the scans that the top left hand corners have a piece of card remaining. just looking for opinions on the grade, centering, etc...

thanks

nice cards, regardless of the grade you receive from psa.

i busted 2wax boxes of 1985 fleer last week and noticed many ragged edges on the cards very similar to yours. ragged meaning not 100% cut, but not referring to corners, corners were fine.

i too am interested on what the masses have to say about these corner shards.

I think I've seen little tufts of fuzz like that on some '80s OPC hockey PSA 9's. I really think PSA grades on a curve depending on the characteristics of the set in question. With O-Pee-Chee cards from that era, the significance of rough cuts and the corner issues sometimes associated with them tend to be minimized in the grading room. It sounds like that could also be the case with the '84 FU set, but I've never submitted any so I can't say for sure.

That Clemens looks really nice, at least to my completely untrained eye.
