My New 1971-S Peg Leg IKE and other Coin Shop Finds

RampageRampage Posts: 9,470 ✭✭✭✭✭
I went to the coin shop today and purchased three sets of 1979-P SBA Souvenir Sets for $5.00 each. Each of the five had the P mint Wide Rim coins in them. image What is so special about this one may ask? Well, these coins are very rarely found in souvenir sets. I do not think any have ever been found in regular mint sets.

Other than that, I recently bought a 1971S business strike Peg Leg IKE. It was slughtly over graded, but I bought it anyway, because I thought the price was just right. Take a lookie below. image

Thanks, Richard.

Looks to be in great shape for a Peg Leg. What did they have it graded at?...and What do you
think it should be graded at?

    Brian,

The coin is currently graded as an MS66 by NNC. I think it is a lock 64 with a nice shot at 65. When I rejoin the collector's club, I will send it in. I am waiting to rejoin until I can build up a selection of coins to mail in.

    Thanks, Richard.

Does Pcgs designate the variety on their holders?

PCGS does not list the variety on their holders and I do not think NGC does either. ANACS, and maybe SEGS will list it though. However, I will be sending mine to PCGS.
