"The Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday suspended Terrell Owens for an indefinite period for conduct detrimental to the team, a catch-all sanction that club officials decided to impose after deliberating much of Friday over how to address the latest flap with the loquacious wide receiver."

god please keep him out till at least after the cowboys game next week!
  • As an Eagle fan, I like their chances tomorrow night even more, now. Great Athlete + big f***ing baby = TO
  • I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles kept him out the rest of the year, just like what happened to Keyshawn.

I give the Eagles organization credit for doing this, even as their season hangs in the balance. TO is a first class idiot - at least he comes off that way, and there is only so much you can allow him to spew before you have to do something about it.

McNabb is out there all the time injured, and he has to listen to this guy continuously badmouth him? Bull.

    TO = Terrible Oddball

Probably some serious mental problems, maybe physical as well , can't seem to keep his foot out of his BIG mouth.

I hear in the offseason he is going to have two surgeries. One to remove the foot from his mouth, and the other to remove his head from his a**.

I've been thinking TO has mental health issues for some time now. I can't imagine an NFL GM even considering Owens - even if he came in without a guaranteed contract and had to play his way onto the team.

Unfortunately, if the Eagles ever decide to cut him loose, I'm sure there will be some team out there who will think that getting a WR of his caliber would be worth putting up with his nonsense.

    You gotta be kidding! Right?

In 21 games played for the Eagles T.O. has 20 touchdowns. The Eagles should of paid him in the winter
and quickly resolved this. They were at one point 11 million under the cap. He and Westbrook ARE the
team's best weapons. Now you just took out half of the equation. Right or wrong, no way is this a good
move for them. If T.O. is done you can almost guarantee no division title. Let's face it the Birds have lots
of problems on defense that T.O. was not responsible for. Now your starting receiving core is made up of
two #4's - Reggie Brown and Greg Lewis. McNabb is limited due to injury. Yet you like their chances.

I'd stick with the Flyers if I were you.

This city starves for a championship and has a number of "so-called" die hard Eagle fans swarmming
610 WIP Philly Sports radio saying the team did the right thing and they will be fine this year.
I'm embarrassed to be stuck losing all the time and accepting it like many of the dopes in this city.
They might of been right to suspend him (even though I wouldn't of done it since for me winning is
everything) but expect things to get worse and hopefully you can accept losing. I CAN NOT!

    aconte
  • Well, we'll know who is right tomorrow night.
  • Id take him in Minny right now!
    Am I speaking Chinese?

    image
  • I think Minny has enough problems dont they
  • I really don't like Sean Salisbury but agree with him here -

"I just wish he was on one of the old Raiders or Steelers teams where a guy like Howie Long or Mean Joe Greene would slam him against a locker and tell him to just shut up and play football."

Yes the team did sit on it's hands and wait for the contract problem to come to them. TO and Rosenhaus are just as liable in their handling of the situation. The team could have restructured the contract and still stuck with their "no renegotiation after the first year" rule.

Bottom line though. Shut up and play ball during the season. Putting the goals of the organization ahead of your own goals is the mark of a true leader.

He'll be back next week and thrash the Cowboys.

Ultimately this will be a motivating event for the team. Andy Reid may be a stubborn mule about his offensive scheme (which he should change), but he's smart as a fox. I believe this is not as big as it seems. Who's to say that the team and TO aren't sandbagging? The other conflicts seemed to go away without much of a resolution, yet he got the ball and has decent stats for the year.

If not, then let him go as a classless non-leader.
  • The team had a "players" only meeting where Mcnabb was going to confront Owens, Most players have said after the suspension that they are happy it has happened, they believe Owens has become a cancer to this team. They feel they can move on now. As a long time eagles supporter I agree that the eagles need to pay certian players (westbrook, lewis, akers) and stop taking the "I am mighter than the players route all the time". However, with that said it was clear that TO has some serious me me issues. Lets put this into perspective, he wanted to eagles to stop a game where he caught his 100th td pass, something accomplished by 5 other players before him. When Manning threw the TD pass to Harrison, the both congragulated each other and walked off the field, no fanfare, no organizational celebration, and that was to set an all-time record. Mr. Owens needs to learn the meaning of TEAM not individual. Manning and Harrison depict class, and have thier eye on the big prize, an accomplishment only one can garner with 53 players acting as one...A Super Bowl Championship.

the way a teams chemistry is set is just as important as the players it has, I have never seen a team divided win it all...and Mr.Owens was dividing the team..I personally am glad it was done, I am sick of his childish mentality. If the eagles lose the rest of their games, I'll be sad, but not as sad as I was watching our hurt quarterback going out their every sunday giving it all for the team only to have some self centered cancer tear him down after.

    Ijustlovecards,...........

    Very good points made.

Perhaps the Eagles should stop a game when TO catches a TD and doen't do anything but simply drop the ball and trot off the field. Maybe act like He's done that kind of thing before and it's not such a big deal.
