We picked up another Dahlonega gold piece at the TSNS show this morning. The 1846-D/D $5 is NGC AU-50 and is offered at $3,950. Sorry for the poor image quality......I don't have access to my usual lighting/camera set-up. In fact, this post is being made from the bourse via laptop!

WOW! That is a great coin. The cheek gash is unimpressive--the circ coins almost always seem to come with a face hit and that one is less conspicuous than most. Looks like some nice luster under the original patina and some dirt in the interstices of the shield. I hope a board member buys it.
