Not a true "Holy Grail", but it's been...

...on my list for a loooong time. Since the winter of 1982 to be more exact. I have wanted an awesome specimen of Tim Raines 1981 Topps individual card (I absolutely HATE multi-player RC's). I have been through many and even bought a couple of 9's on eBay that...let's just say wouldn't make the "frazier" holder. Always tilted, soft, blurry, a dinged corner, weak gloss, 90/10 reverse...something that could use improvement. Here's a virtually PERFECT example that I added to my lead-off man collection that I'm proud of and eager to share...
1981 ROCK
Finally off my 10 Most-Wanted list. He's been public-enemy #3 or #4 for some time now. BTW, public enemy #1 is still the 85TT Vince Coleman.

What else can I say but superb card!
I don't collect the 81s but I do have a 3 box rack case that I never opened.
Maybe some day when it's 20 below....in Texas?!

Is it me or is it slighted tilted? I know the actual card is tilted in the case, but I think the top left and bottom right are thinner.

No tilt. I think I see what you see in the scan. In my palm he's just awesome. He measures the same--almost exactly--both directions along the margins. I notice "tilts" sometimes when I scan cards, but when I go back and look they're not there. I can't explain it. Does scanning shade or obscure edges?

Yeah, scanning can sometimes make the card look different than it does live.
Anyway, a beautiful rookie card of the 1st base coach for the World Series champion White Sox.
