I'm comfused. What is the point? Did you buy anything? Was there really such a show? Did you buy the turkey at the show? How much did the turkey cost? Is that the only thing you had for dinner? Was the turkey on a coin? Not sure but maybe that's the way things are in Sacramento.
I was there today as well. I got there late today because I had to meet with FedEx executives in the morning. The attendance wasn't as good as shows in the past, but this was the first time this show has been held on a Friday.
Available material was okay as I ended up with about two-thirds of a double row box of new purchases.

IT's nice to know we can count on Mr. Topstuf for quality posts...

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5
"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
Just noticed the over 3,326 post from Topstuf and wonder if they were all as detailed and informative. Sure wish there was a price quote on the turkey though.
However, I did return to the show today. The temperature was 66 degrees fahrenheit and the sun was out and now it's not. Having digested a (partial) turkey missing its lower extremities and the bony wings that NO ONE eats (but the store weighs) I arrived with a small pile of coins which I was planning to offer before trying them out on the Coinstar machine at the turkey store. I settled myself at the dealer's table and he asked how he could serve me and I told him that I had some "stuff" but that he could finish dealing with the customer whom he had already drawn from the crowd. As he was involved with his prior client, another coin show denizen sat down next to me and inquired if he could look at my Library of Coins Lincoln Cent album. I informed him as politely as was possible that he would be welcome to peruse said album .......AFTER........ Mr. Dealer had looked at it as it is my policy to try to complete transactions with those with whom I have opened a conversation in preference to queering the whole deal by inserting a "looky lou" into the equation while preparations are being made. As it turned out, Mr. Dealer told me that Mr. Looky was a regular customer and he didn't mind if I showed it to him. So I retracted my glare from Mr. Looky and told him that apparently a new paradigm applied and he would be welcome to peruse the set, which he did after glaring back with a "who the hell do you think YOU are" gaze. It seems Mr. Looky was under the erroneous assumption that I would have full red MS67 Lincolns in a LOC album and after a brief perusal, handed it back to me with a haughty exclamation. Time proceeded to pass and in the course of natural events, Mr. Dealer completed his initial transaction and looked at my meager pile and exclaimed "oh...REAL coins" and proceeded to match my asking prices on the Liberty Cap half cent, the 1877 IHC, the CC gold, and a few other minor widgets. However, his attitude toward the set of Lincolns matched Mr. Looky's (and mine) and serious "negotiations" commenced involving an exchange of snide but humorous jabs and counterpunches and finally a coin flip. However, bearing in mind that the key coins in the album were all either cleaned or damaged and were but a remnant of a collection I had purchased over the counter prior to my retirement which required me to buy that POS in order to proceed to the GOOD coins, our settled negotiation left us in a position where I was very happy and possibly came out if not better off than the new owner, at least relieved in having shed my possession of them. I am now in a position to purchase several hundred more turkeys and will now have the time to prepare a more comprehensive post on the forum to those who thirst for more information than was included in my intial contribution to the thread yesterday. If you require more details, please PM.
I was at the show for about an hour on Saturday and attendance was much better than Friday's.

You need the whole turkey (ie the collection of turkey parts) for it to be a significant turkey purchase worthy of discussion here.
