  • Gotta love this:

On Nov-02-05 at 22:14:37 PST, seller added the following information:

THIS CARD HAS NOT BEEN TRIMMED. GOOD GRADING COMPANIES WON'T GRADE TRIMMED CARDS.

Give the guy credit. One of those two sentences is 100% true.

    Actually, both sentences are true.

My question to the seller would be: Were hedge clippers used to trim the card or was a buzzsaw used to trim the card?

I highly doubt that the card is not trimmed and therfore am confused how both sentences are true?

Absolutely right. Sure looks like he might have also tried to trim the left border on the 66 Mantle - and if he didn't he probably figured that there was too little border there to be able to trim it and look half decent.
  • I have a hard time believing that buyer is legit. No doubt it is the seller's account or friend, trying lend credibility to the ridiculous auction by showing a bid.

He hasn't won anything over $100, so I think this is an out of the ordinary bid.

    This whole thing stinks.

Zef - you're absolutely correct; that's what I get for posting from the office. Brain fart, simply put.

I know the feeling. My only problem is when the brain fart happens on work stuff and not the board.

    Ya gotta love this guy!

I emailed him for exact measurements - told him I'm not familiar with Pro grading.

I got a better shot at being the Queen of England than that card does of being the proper dimensions!

Better not post any pictures of the Queen of England - that might be interpreted as a "girlie" post - LOL

I see he has a <eyeroll> bid on it.

    Good for you.

Why throw in a beat up, dingy, possibly trimmed '66? Only for credibility? image
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!
  • I got a reply back that makes me think this is a scam. He mentions that he's got it covered and that he has gotten nice cards from SGC. Not sure what any of that means but it sounds like bs to me.
