Call them at (941)360-3990 and ask to speak to their customer service department. They should be able to give you a definitive answer.

At least the source can give you a factual answer instead of a spectulative one. If a long distance call dissuades someone from calling, they can try dialing (800)642-2646.

All I know is last month a mailed a package for reholder, and another for variety plus. The packages went from the Pacific Northwest to Florida and back in 14 days. Great service!image

Their turnaround has been posted on their website for some time. I've found it to be accurate. Just click on "services and rates" at the top and scroll down to the table.
  • Al,

Today, Early bird was quoted as 18 work days and Economy was at 24 work days.

I received an Earlybird submission back a couple of weeks ago that took less than 20 days to get done, and I have one in there now and have been told under 20 business days should be right for that one as well.

    Hope that helps.

Keep in mind, NGC does not guarantee any of their turnaround times, they only estimate them. They don't do the silly blackout days thing either though.

thanks for the link, Robert. i always go directly to collectors-society.com to sign in instead of ngccoin.com and couldn't find anything there.
  • I think this page is actually updated with their current turn around times.

  • My wife mailed my submission for Express Special on Monday afternoon and it's in Quality Control right now!
  • I heard that they are pretty much on time, but not as fast as they were about a month ago.

well, i checked this morning and the order has been graded and is waiting at quality, probably another day or two till it's posted. i pasted the coins(actually medals) from the invoice along with my pre-submission estimates. i think the order may have gone through quickly due to the fact that they aren't coins, but maybe NGC is just moving smoothly now. i'll post the results with some pictures when they arrive home.

HK-8-----evidentally the fields were too clouded for the PL designation, though the grade is lower than i expected. still, nice for a White Metal(tin) striking of a 150 year old medal that has less than 20 survivors.

HK-392-----a very clean aluminum medal with an involved reverse design and nice, high relief. Brian Boru united Ireland and died in the Battle of Clontarf on April 14th, 1014---slain at the ripe old age of 88!!!!!

Nice looking medals. There are so many cool and intricate designs to the different medals. Are the bold type grades the actual grades you received from Ngc? If so, very nice results for the most part.

bold type were my estimates and the italics are the grades received. the MS61 was a bit of a dissappointment, but the transposed MS65/MS67 is a surprise. the Century of Progress is a common medal that i bought in the original box and it's pristine with one miniscule, pin-prick carbon spot being the only imperfection. it has great tone which is deeper around the devices and is the cleanest i've ever seen. the California, on the other hand, is an octoganal gold-plated bronze medal that's also clean but shows quite a bit of die polish that i thought might limit the grade.

one thing about these So-Called $'s and NGc is that they are all graded by the same person so things are usually consistent. i always assume he's viewed multiple examples of each issue to have a basis for good comparitive assessment. with some of the rare medals it's hard to have seen more than a few, though.
