When do the announcements start happening (ROY, MVP, CY, etc)?
Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Tom Seaver, Mike Schmidt, George Brett, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock player collector

    Anyone else find it odd that the AL Cy Young is announced on the 8th, while the NL Cy Young is announced the 10th?

    Why does it take so long for these to come out? It takes away from the season by having these awards so late in the year, and getting buried by the NBA and NFL.

    I think you answered your own question. Instead though, for MLB, replace "takes away from the season" with "attempts to extend the season even longer".

    I think it'd be nice if they gave them out after the last regular season game is played.
