What is the best way to ship to Canada.

I may need to ship a card to Canada that will need to be insured for over $500.00. What is the nest way to ship this? If I recall the past correctly, we cannot ship a package with insurance to Canada unless it was over 1 pound. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

It doesn't have to weigh a pound, but I think you do need to ship it via registered mail if you want insurance. It'll probably run $12-15 depending on the weight and insured amount. The potential problem is that such a postage amount could tip off customs agents to the contents of the package. Be careful with the customs form and maybe ask your buyer how he wants it filled out so that he can try to minimize the likelihood of a fat tax. Another option is Global Priority. I don't think you can insure that way, but I haven't had a problem with packages getting there that way. It's about $4-6, depending on weight.
