Toning on Proofs - Question

I understand that toning on coins is a matter of preference for most collectors with some liking it and others wanting a coins w/o any toning at all.
Would light toning on proofs lead to a downgrade by the grading services or a lack of interest in the coins by other collectors?
The toning "appears" to be because of 'normal' coin ageing and not any environmental damage or from PVC - the coins are no longer brilliant .........
Also in the event of the toing being from the above, would there be any time frame that the damage would appear? The coins are about 50 years old...

When it comes to collector interest, it depends on the color and the deepness of the toning.
If the toning is super deep trying to remove the toning could ruin the look of the coin.

The toning on the coins in question has no color.....would that knock the coin from say for example a Proof 69 to a Proof 68...????
