1880 8 over 7 PCGS #7098 - Which VAM is it?

Does any body know what VAM number is considered for the 7098 Morgan Philadelphia 1880 8 over 7.

This question is also valid for the other 1880 Morgan Overdates (CC, O and S)?

I can think of at least 3 different 1880 P VAM recognized overdates and I can't seem to get an intelligible answer from the customer support people at PCGS.

Multiple vams for 7/8...7 vams for 1880-P overdates exist. Multiples for all in fact.

PCGS now recognizes all of them...so 7098 is out of date or used if you don't care about the vam.

The PCGS Coin # List for vams is here
  • VAM numbers 6, 7, 8, and 9 were all encapsulated by PCGS as coin number 7098, and referred to as 8/7. These are the spikes, crossbar, ears, and stem overdates. Now you have the option, but not the obligation, to specify and receive the precise VAM number when submitting a coin. However, this will cost you $15 more than a simple 8/7 submission.
  • Thank you both Wolf359 and Yale68.
I have a RAW 1880 P 8/7 VAM 9 (Stem) and I wanted to avoid spending good money for a possible refusal.
