Is a 1939 Great Britain One Penny worth anything. A friend of mine asked me about one he has. If I had to guess I would say XF to AU.

I don't have my price guides in front of me this minute, but I am guessing that tbirde's estimate is pretty accurate.

£4 in the 2005 Spink for EF, so tbirde was in the right ballpark.
Ajaan is right about how much your friend would actually get for the coin if he were to sell it. Just don't tell him I said he was right.
