image Sent a Forum member three coins Insured from VA Bch to NJ on 10/11. Forum Member paid with MO. Coins haven't arrived yet. Went to my PO they said I had to wait 30 day's to file a claim. Got the Form to do so. Forum member hasn't been to his PO yet to check on the coins. Forum member wants money back. Any Recommendations?

  • I would at least ask him to wait the required 30 days... thats only fair. File the claim, that way you can at least start the process to get your money back, then refund him his money. The post office obviously has that 30 day rule for a reason... they may turn up. Were they insured?

If I was a buyer, I would wait the required amount of time (within reason) and as long as the seller kept in contact... I wouldnt worry.
  • Lee:

    1. If you have a tracking number, look it up on USPS.com or have the post office look it up. If the coin was received at the buyers post office, then he will have to get off his duff and pick it up.

    2. If the package has not been delivered yet, do not give a refund until the buyer at least fills out the paperwork you need on the claim. They buyer has a responisibility to cooperate on his end to make sure you get your claim filed before he/she is entitled to a refund.

    Good Luck!

Also, if your tracking number does not give you any info, go to your post office and have the postmaster or supervisor track it for you. I know that they have a much more informative tracking system than does the public.

    Again, good luck.
