Aqua Blue Proof Indian cents

In my opinion this color is not a natural color from the sulfer tissue paper in which these coins were originally wrapped.
This color seems to be the flavor of the time.I never remember seeing this color in the early 1990's.What is your experience ?

Did you attend the Eliasberg Sale? These beautiful blue toners were actually kicked out by NGC and PCGS untill they saw all the beautiful blue toners in that sale. I wonder how many were "cared" in the 1986-1996 era to get these coins to grade? They understand the toning now.

("Cared" means appliying care or blue ribbon coin preserver to the coin. This will cover up or mute the toning)

New solution, collect only ugly coins. ....well, ok, maybe not.

I'm not sure on the proofs, but there seem to be a lot of blue toned "brown" cents in TPG's holders that I'm fairly sure are the product of MS70.

I agree with some are a result of MS70 but not all!!!

The Blue proofs certainly could be a product of the tissue they were stored in.......I don't have enough experience to comment on the Business strikes though I have seen a lot of blue ones. Both of the examples below have some blue toning........
