Just saw on ESPN News that Al Lopez died today at 97 years old
At least he lived long enough to see his White Sox win a World Series
Edited to add the ESPN story...

When they showed him on TV during the last game of the ALCS, I said to my wife, "There is no way that man is 97 years old!!! He looks much younger."
Remember these Chuck Norris Facts
1. When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down
2. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, Chuck Norris can actually roundhouse kick you yesterday
3. There are no such things as lesbians, just women who have not yet met Chuck Norris
A decent catcher during his playing days, I think he got into the HOF via the Vets commitee. (as a mgr)?
he will be missed as he was a true friend of the game.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
huh?
what do you mean more then once?
since he was alive the last time they won?

<< <i>Besides the Sox he also managed the Indians in 54. Thus from 1950 thru 59 his teams were the only ones to take 1st place over the Yankee's.

Yes, I think he did get into the HOF as a manager

Yep. He was born in 1908. The Sox won the World Series in 1917. So, he would have been 9 years old.
