Grading question

How do small lumps in the cardboard affect the grade? I have some cards that may be 8-9-10 quality but wonder how a lump may affect grade. I have been reading the board for a while but have not seen mention of how this affects card. Would it be similar as a surface wrinkle or are they viewed more leniently?
I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach)

You mean warts? At least that's what I call them when there's a tiny bump on the surface with no indentation on the reverse to cause that. I personally do not like them but would view them a little better than surface wrinkles. Not sure what PSA thinks of them and I'm curious as well.
