Stamp With selvedge. Stamps in blocks.

Hello, Lets say you have a monster stamp that will get a awesome grade with a piece of selvedge attached. Do you remove it or keep it attached. Also let use early airmail stamps as a example. Are these old stamps always to be left in block form. Netting that breaking the block up and remaining selvedge will drop the value.

    Leave the selvedge and leave the blocks intact. Are your blocks in 2, 4, 6, etc? Are they out of the middle of the sheet? Or plate?
